"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths." (Proverbs 3:5)
This passage kept coming to mind this morning after receiving the call from my dr.'s office that I indeed did not pass my second glucose screening. Thank you Katherine for posting this verse last week :) It really did encourage me this morning.
I go on to the Diabetes Educational Facility tomorrow afternoon for my first consultation. Basically they will ask me what I typically eat and help me come up with a diet plan that will essentially be balancing carbs and proteins. I am looking forward to learning more tomorrow and could definitely still use prayers that I would not be discouraged and overwhelmed by changes I have to make and that I will be able to manage my diet so that it would cause any harm to our little baby girl.
Thank you all again for your prayers. I am very grateful!

I am very familiar with diet changes - my holistic doctor helped me get on a diet that has made me SO much healthier. It was a bit of an adjustment at first, but now I don't even think twice about it and I feel so much better that I don't miss my old way of eating. I'll be praying for you!
Praying for you as you start your new diet...glad you are trusting in the Lord--it's so encouraging to hear the faith you are having. Oh and praying for that sweet baby girl too!
Will be praying Katie and know that HE will give you the grace and strength to make any and every necessary change and as someone already said you'll probably end up feeling great (and the baby too!) in the long haul!
Katie, I will keep you in my prayers. Just remember that "HE WILL make straight your path". I know that God will give you the strength and grace to walk through this...for this is the path that he has chosen and He has promised to work! I will pray that you'll find rest in Him. Love you and can't wait to meet your sweet little girl!
I'll keep praying my dear friend! Can't wait to see you next week!!! <3 muah
I will keep praying for you Katie. Only a couple more months until this sweet little one joins your family. God will give you the grace to make it through this trial. I am excited for you to be done working and you can come over and hang out.
Hey Katie... if you get any cravings call me... I will eat what ever it is for you... in all seriousness... is that an English word? Any way... hang in there. This is a short season and soon you will be with your beautiful daughter. Only a short season... repeat with me... only a short season...I can do all things ...praying for you.
To encourage you, I know someone who had gestational diabetes and I dont think she found it too difficult. I think it is just basically eating the right amounts of the right foods, getting exercise and possibly checking your blood sugar a few times a day. I will pray for you and your little one!
Katie, I am glad those words from God's word comforted you. I encourage you to continue to keep Scripture right in front of you as you began the parenting journey. The counsel is so practical. Sometimes when I'm worrying about something, I bring to mind Psalms 37:8 which tells us that fretting can lead or "tend" to evil. I will keep you in my prayers and look forward to meeting your little baby girl. Hugs!
