16 Weeks!!

From Baby Center (they use the term her, but we don't know what we're having yet :) )
"At 4 1/2 inches long (head to bottom) and 3 1/2 ounces, your baby is about the size of an avocado. In the next three weeks, she'll go through a tremendous growth spurt, though, doubling her weight and adding inches to her length. Her lower limbs are much more developed now. Her head is more erect than it has been, and her eyes have moved toward the front of her head. Your baby's ears are close to their final position, too. Some of her more advanced body systems are working, including her circulatory system and urinary tract. Her heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, circulating her total blood volume through her body many times. (By the end of your pregnancy, this will increase to about 190 quarts.) The patterning of her scalp has begun, though her hair isn't recognizable yet. Although closed, her eyes are moving (slowly), and she's even started growing toenails."

It's hard to believe I've reached the 16 week mark. And, I have been encouraged because after throwing up almost every day for the past couple weeks, I have not felt a hint of nausea for the past two days. I would be really excited if this means I'm over that part!!! But, I'm preparing myself for this being just a "break". Either way, I have been so blessed by a wonderfully caring and nurturing husband who has been so patient and kind and loving towards me during these four months... He's rubbed my head when I have head aches, held my hair while I lost my lunch or dinner in the toilet, run to the store to get me slushies, stayed home and watched countless hours of TV while I was out on the couch, made his own lunches and dinner when I couldn't tolerate the smell, loaded and unloaded the dishwasher numerous times, and I could go on but you can get the picture - he is AMAZING! I truly am a blessed girl!!

Katie,

I pray the Lord will "lift" your sickness and you can move on from the distraction of not feeling well. Your weekly updates on how your baby is growing and changing is such a sweet reflection of the excitement you have to be a "mommy". It's also a wonderful reminder of the amazing God we serve!
Love,
Terresa

That's pretty amazing. I pray the sickness will stop soon. Love you Katie. It was fun to see you, though briefly, last weekend.
